Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use nexstella.com, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.

In short

Our target for nexstella.com is WCAG 2.2 level AA. It is a target, not a claim of conformance. We build for keyboard use, screen readers, light and dark color schemes and reduced motion, and pages work without JavaScript. Where something falls short, tell us. A person replies within one business day.

01 Our target

What is our accessibility target?

We aim for every page on nexstella.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not had the site audited by an independent party, so we do not claim that it conforms.

02 What we do

What do we do to meet it?

  • A skip link, landmarks and one main heading on every page
  • Keyboard use, with a visible focus outline
  • Menus, tabs, accordions and dialogs built on the WAI-ARIA patterns
  • Colors defined as light and dark scheme tokens, with a toggle for the scheme
  • Three motion modes: full, lite and off. The off mode applies when your device asks for reduced motion, and every animated element then shows its final state
  • A Pause animations control in the footer of every page and on the home page, which stops the decorative motion
  • Pages that show their final state and keep their navigation without JavaScript
  • A full text description with every architecture diagram
  • Form fields with visible labels, and a list of problems announced when a form cannot be sent
  • Browser tests that use the keyboard on the header menu, accordions, the home page quiz and the contact forms
  • Contrast ratios for our text and control colors, in both color schemes, checked by an automated script
  • Automated accessibility checks with axe on every page, in both color schemes, at phone and desktop widths

03 Known limits

Where are the known limits?

  • No independent audit. We test as we build, but a person who relies on assistive technology every day may meet barriers we have not found.
  • The meeting scheduler. Booking can use an embedded Cal.com calendar, and its accessibility is not in our control. The contact form and email reach the same person.
  • Automated checks and screen readers. Automated checks, including axe on every page, find only some barriers, and we have not tested with each screen reader. Treat both as part of the target and not as a result.

04 Report a barrier

How do you report a barrier?

Email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you like, the browser and assistive technology you use. A person replies within one business day.

If you would rather talk, we can take the same request on a call.
